Prohibition Cocktail Tasting - Taste some of the Port's exceptional cocktails while you learn about the history, pairings, etc. Three samples will be provided for a unique cocktail tasting experience. Time frame: 1 Hour, Not available on Friday or Saturday, Rates $24 per person, up to 12 people. Kitchen 101 - Our introductory cooking class covers a variety of basic, easy-to-master techniques. During the first half of the class our professional chef will demonstrate cooking techniques to include: how to break down a chicken, skin a fish filet, breading, frying, saute and deglaze, basic vinaigrete, using a roux or a slurry as thickeners and pan searing. The second part of the class will include a hands-on demonstration of essential knife sills to include: how to hold, sharpen and hone your knife along with basic cutting techniques. Time frame: 1.5 hours, Rates $50 per person, 4 to 20 people. Sushi Iron Chef Competition Class - Learn to roll like a pro! At this 90-minute class, our professional chef will begin a sushi rolling demonstration. Guests are divided into teams and will have one hour to create their own rolls using traditional modern ingredients. The result? A wonderful sushi buffet that includes the created platters, miso soup, romaine salad with ginger dressing, sesame green beans & green tea panna cotta with candied ginger. Time frame: 1.5 hours, Rates $75 per person, 4 to 20 people Wine 101 - Dive into this introductory class with the St. James Hotel's Wine Host. Explore a few of the country's most favorite varietals and learn the basics of wine tasting and how to differentiate between a good wine and a great wine. The wines: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Rose, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon. Time frame: 1 hour, Rates $35 per person, up to 25 people. Canvas Painting Parties: Art instructors will help replicate an acrylic masterpiece or create an art project of your choice while you enjoy refreshments. Time frame: 2 hours, Rates $31 per person, up to 20 people Take a Cruise on the Pearl of the Lake Paddleboat (In Season): Enjoy a nice day on the Lake in a modern-day replica of a Grand Riverboat that traveled on the Mississippi River in the 1800's! A 90-minute excursion is perfect for relaxing and taking in the view while listening to a narration full of information. Rates: $15 per adult, private charters available on request Pontoon the Mississippi (In Season): Enjoy the Mississippi River and Lake Pepin while cruising in style! Climb aboard the Lund Pro to reel some walleye, board the Captain accompanied Adventurer Cruiser, hop on the Sea Ray Weekender and fall asleep to the waves or stroll onto the South Bay Pontoon for a relaxing cruise. Time frame: 1/2 day, full day or week long rental, Rates varies, up to 13 people. Kayak the Mississippi River (In Season): Enjoy a paddle boat tour through the hidden and scenic waters of the Mississippi River where you will paddle under the legendary and towering Barn Bluff, through twister and secretive waters hidden from the main channel and to titanic views of Lake Pepin, the largest lake on the Mississippi River. Timer frame: 2.5 to 3 hours, Rates $78 + per person, 12 to 20 people.
