GENERAL HOTEL INFORMATION
The St. James Hotel is located at 406 Main Street in the heart of historic, downtown Red Wing.
The St. James is a smoke-free property, no smoking is allowed in our guest rooms, or in public spaces, including The Patio at Scarlet Kitchen & Bar.
CHECK-IN / OUT
Our guests are welcome to check-in at 4:00 PM. Check-out is at 11:00 AM.
Early check-in may be available depending on occupancy, but we will not know until the day of arrival what may or may not be possible. Please feel free to contact a Guest Service Representative around mid-day to see how our day is shaping up. Early check-ins are allowed on a first-come, first-serve basis and are never a guarantee. A fee may be assessed for early check ins.
Absolutely! Please bring your items to the Front Desk and we will store them for you at no charge, before check-in or after check-out.
We do charge a late check out fee: $50 / hour beyond our check-out time (11:00 AM)
RESERVATIONS
Usually the answer is yes. Please contact our Guest Services Representatives to request a change directly. Some rates / reservations may not be able to be adjusted if changes are made inside of their availability window OR if you have made a non-refundable reservation through our website or a third-party. We are happy to discuss options with you: 800-252-1875.
If you cancel by 3:00 PM local time, at least 48 hours prior to your arrival, you can avoid a penalty charge. If booked under our Advance Purchase rate, the reservation can be cancelled, but the deposit will be forfeited regardless of the reason for cancelation.
GUEST SERVICES
While the hotel does not provide transportation, rideshare services like Lyft + Uber, taxi services, or Hiawatha Transit are all options for our guests to enjoy Red Wing safely.
Yes! The St. James provides complimentary on-site, covered, self-parking to all guests. Access to our parking ramp can be located off of Bush Street. Complimentary short-term parking is available in front of the hotel on Main Street (Highway 61). Guests of the St. James requiring charging for electric vehicles, can access chargers on level C of our parking ramp.
We do not offer valet services at this time.
Have a group arriving by bus or in an oversized vehicle? Parking is available behind the building.

While the St. James does not directly provide spa services, we are incredibly fortunate to have a spa located right in our main lobby. River Blu Salon + DaySpa offers a long list of services that you may be able to take advantage of during your stay! The St. James does not currently have an on-site fitness center, however, we do have a partnership with the Red Wing Family YMCA, just down the street. Guests of the St. James Hotel can take advantage of their entire facility including their wellness center, fitness classes, swimming pool, hot tub, saunas and more. Ask a Guest Services Representative for more information.
Yes! Complimentary wi-fi is available throughout the hotel.
Each guest room is provided with two St. James Hotel robes. All guests are welcome to request additional robes by contacting our Guest Services Team at extension ‘0’. Removing robes from the property or choose to purchase a robe(s) will be at the expense of the guest.
Yes, all guestrooms come equipped with a hair dryer.
Most of our rooms are equipped with irons and ironing boards. If you cannot locate one in your guestroom, please contact our Guest Services Team and one will be brought to you. We do have steamers available upon request – please contact our Guest Services Team to request one.
No, we do not offer cribs or pack-n-plays.
Rollaways are available for an additional $25 fee per day. Please note: they cannot be placed in every room due to the historic nature of the hotel and adequate space available. If you would like to utilize a rollaway, please note that in your reservation, or contact our Guest Services Team.
A majority of our guestrooms do not have refrigerators or microwaves. Some of our Whirlpool Collection guestrooms offer these amenities. The Flat + The Foundry both offer full kitchens with full-size appliances.
Laundry services are available and information on how to obtain these services can be found in your guestroom. Please contact a Guest Services Representative if you have questions about how to receive these services during your stay using extension ‘0’.
We do not have a regular vendor for dry-cleaning at this time, but our Guest Services Team would be happy to assist you with finding a local provider.
At the St. James Hotel, we have incorporated Clara’s Conserve + Preserve green initiative.
Bedroom: Our standard at the St. James Hotel is to change bed linens every third day and again upon check-out. If you would like your linens changed sooner, please let us know.
Bathroom: A towel on the hook or rack means, “I will use again.” A towel on the floor means, “Please replace.”
If you need housekeeping services during your stay, please utilize your door knocker and place it on your guest room door (exterior).

At this time, we only allow dogs at the St. James. Dogs are allowed in all areas of our property except for Scarlet Kitchen & Bar, The Port and our event spaces. Please notify our team of your dog prior to arrival. We only allow dogs in certain rooms at this time in the Historic section of the hotel. This helps us to ensure our guests with allergies can have a pleasant stay.
Yes, the St. James charges a $75 per stay pet cleaning fee for rooms hosting dogs, regardless of the size, type, or breed of the dog.

We do not offer room blocks for events outside of the St. James Hotel. If you are hosting an event at the St. James, please ask your Sales Team Representative for information.

Yes! Gift cards can be purchased in-person with a Guest Services Representative or online (an additional fee may apply). Our gift cards are good to use with our hotel partners including Scarlet Kitchen & Bar and The Port!

Photo shoots are permitted on a case-by-case basis and must be pre-approved and scheduled by our Management Team. There may be a fee for use of our facility if you are not a registered guest. If you are a hotel guest, you must still schedule your shoot with our team to ensure that other guests are not impacted and their privacy is protected.
