The Red Wing Upcoming Events You Won’t Want to Miss

Each season brings unique events and festivals to Red Wing. What will you discover during your next trip?

Summer

Summer in Red Wing wouldn’t be the same without the River City Days festival. Every August, the community of Red Wing gathers for a fun-filled long weekend. There’s a little something for everyone here, whether you’d prefer to browse the library book sale, indulge in a cold beer, shop at the farmers market, or watch a parade. View the full schedule of this year’s activities to learn more.

We are positive you know of the Tour de France, but have you heard of the Tour de Pepin? This annual bicycle and paddleboat tour of Lake Pepin is one of the best in the Midwest. The Tour de Pepin occurs in June in the neighboring town of Lake City. Participants can choose from a 32-mile, 50-mile, 72-mile, or full 100-mile ride.

Fall

Red Wing is known for its commitment to the arts. More than a century ago, Red Wing Pottery became a staple of the community, and the arts have thrived ever since. Each October, the Red Wing Arts Fall Festival features live music, theater performances, pottery painting, and author readings. It’s a can’t-miss event for those who love creativity.

Throughout the year, the best celebrations in town happen at the St. James Hotel, and our Masquerade Dinner is no exception. Every fall, guests dress for the designated theme and enjoy a sophisticated evening of masks, feathers, and whispered conversation. You’ll never forget this four-course wine dinner event.

Winter

The Holiday Stroll is our favorite way to say “hello” to the most wonderful time of the year. Visit with Santa, grab a drink at the ice bar, and take a reindeer-led sleigh ride. The event also features a pancake breakfast in the morning and lighted parade at night. There’s no better way to get into the holiday spirit!

At the St. James Hotel, New Year’s Eve is one of our favorite holidays to celebrate. Ring in the new year with a delectable meal at The Port and enjoy live entertainment on site.

If you’re hoping to hear some fantastic live music in Southern Minnesota, you can’t miss the Big Turn Music Fest. This multi-day, multi-genre music festival is one of the best Red Wing winter activities. The event’s most notable venue is Sheldon Theater, which was built in 1904 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The music fest celebrates Red Wing’s commitment to the performing arts every February. Be sure to reserve your tickets in advance, as the day passes typically sell out.

Spring

Spring brings blooming landscapes, sunshine, and even more delicious events to Red Wing. Celebrate your favorite spring holidays with us at our Easter Buffet and Mother’s Day Buffet with family or close friends. Indulge in our bountiful buffets while overlooking the Mississippi River. There’s no better way to welcome the warmer months to Red Wing than with a delicious brunch on The Veranda patio. Reservations are required for these events, so please plan ahead accordingly.
